UFRJ Technological Park completes 10 years

O Technological Park of Rio de Janeiro completed a decade of activities on September 18th. Located on Ilha do Fundão, campus of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the project was inaugurated in 2003 with the objective of stimulating the interaction between university and companies, promoting the transformation of knowledge into wealth.

“The innovation environment guarantees companies differentiated access to laboratories, highly qualified professionals, and generates cutting-edge business and research opportunities”, highlights Maurice Guedes, executive director of the UFRJ Technological Park.

THE INOVAX, which this year completed 24 years of activities, started the implementation of its Research, Development and Innovation Center (CPDIx) in 2006 at Cidade Universitária initially at Business Incubator at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering (COPPE). Today, it is a consolidated company in the UFRJ Technological Park.

Today, INOVAX's research centers and 12 other national and multinational companies that have the “DNA” of innovation, six COPPE laboratories and 19 start ups companies are located in the Park, in an area of 350 thousand square meters. Incubator. Few environments with similar characteristics and dimensions currently exist in Latin America.

“The establishment of the CPDIx at the UFRJ Technological Park, INOVAX has been able to benefit from a close, productive and effective relationship with UFRJ for the creation of new technology-based products and their introduction in our market. The NEOPATH® Platform for communication and collaboration in Decision Centers is one of these examples of success, with the contribution of COPPE and NCE laboratories ”said the Director.
