Graduation of young people from poor communities sponsored by INOVAX

On January 22, the fifth edition of the FORSOFT-RIO project took place at FIRJAN. INOVAX was represented at the ceremony attended by Professors, alumni, businessmen and authorities.

Among the trainees are three students sponsored by INOVAX: Leonardo Gonçalves, Renan Ferreira (photo, left) and Michael Guedes(photo, right). Rachel Gaspar (photo), currently responsible for the Human Resources area at INOVAX, handed the certificates to the three. After graduating, they will start an internship period at the company.

“É bacana o envolvimento da INOVAX e nossa participação em um projeto de cunho social, onde junto com outras empresas madrinhas damos formação e oportunidade de emprego a alunos moradores de área onde há vulnerabilidade social”, said Raquel. “Sensação de dever cumprido.”

During the graduation event, Marcio Lacs, president of the Association of Brazilian Information Technology Companies in Rio (AssesproRJ), highlighted the importance of integrating the project with the IT market for the inclusion of young people in the job market and thanked the engagement of companies such as INOVAX. Also present were the Secretary of Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro, Franklin Dias Coelho, and the FORSOFT Project Coordinator, Kátia Senna.

The trainee sponsored by INOVAX, Renan Ferreira, is one of the highlights of the course. With some of the highest marks in all classes, he says that INOVAX gave him an opportunity to grow through training in the area of technology. “Antes de iniciar o curso eu não sabia nada de programação e muito menos de como agir e trabalhar numa empresa. Agora adquiri grandes conhecimentos e consigo realizar ambos” stated. And Renan will continue to follow the paths of technology. “Meus objetivos são trabalhar nesta área e fazer uma faculdade relacionada a TI ou qualquer uma que seja ligada ao ramo da tecnologia. Sem dúvida, esse curso me ajudou muito, pois encurtou o caminho para realizar meus objetivos.”

FORSOFT-RIO is a social action resulting from the partnership between Assespro-RJ, the Municipal Secretariat of Science and Technology and the Godmother Companies like INOVAX. The project aims at employability and training young people in need in areas related to Information Technology. After the course offered, students will undertake internships at the Godmothers and one third of them will leave.

Young residents of socially vulnerable areas, of both sexes, who are between 18 and 24 years old, who are attending or have completed their third year of high school, can participate in Forsoft.
