Case Study - Inovax

Product Design Book (R$139,54 – Amazon)
Editora Elsevier Brasil. Authors: Cristiano Ferreira, Eduardo Romeiro, Redson Gouvinha, Ricardo Naveiro and Paulo Augusto Cauchik.

In the book Product Project, launched by Editora Elsevier Brasil, the authors conduct a case study on the development of Inovax's product line for the telecommunications market, and the mastery of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology, the technology that transforms analog audio signals , in digital data that can be transferred over the Internet.

The dominance of VoIP technology by INOVAX represented a strategic decision. VoIP technology would replace existing digital and analog communication technologies. It was necessary to change the professional profile of Inovax. The company invested in the training of electrical engineers with extensive experience in developing hardware in ICT technologies, and part of the team settled in the Technological Park at UFRJ to dedicate itself exclusively to the development of new products and processes.

The final product was the Neopath communication terminal, which represented a major Brazilian advance in the field of VoIP technology. The new product allowed for fast communication, and integrated telephony, video conferencing, messaging and documents.

The acceptance of Neopath by the financial and decision-making markets, legitimized the widespread qualities of the product. Currently, companies such as Caixa Econômica, Petros Foundation, Banco do Nordeste, Banco de Brasília, among others, use the Neopath solution for better dynamism and performance in their trading environment.

In the case study presented by the book, it was illustrated how the capacity of INOVAX engineers, the strategic vision of the future that the company established and the capacity for technological innovation, allowed the company to advance in the development of VoIP terminal technology and to stand out over the competition.
